About Raaji Dessena

Growing up in Switzerland I was interested in healing, self discovery and the mystery of this life, and since I was a child this has led me on a profound and wondrous journey that continues to unfold every day. For many years I have been fortunate to travel the world, live in different places and experience many adventures. Following my wish to work with people in a supportive way I have trained in several healing modalities ~ as a bodyworker and healer as well as a therapist including Trauma Healing after P. Levine. I have spent time in the Peruvian Amazon where I learned healing ways from Curanderos, and about their forest plant medicines. I practice the ancient ceremonial earth ways from elders of the red road tradition of the South American continent. Along my path I have met many great teachers and sat with masters that have influenced my life deeply.
I am passionate about art, expression and beauty. I have studied art, movement, music and voice, I am a trained contemporary dance teacher, trance dance facilitator and am training to be a continuum movement teacher. I play the guitar, write songs and love to paint and play with colours and materials.

Since 2000 I have lived and offered my work in the spiritual and ecological community Pachamama, in Costa Rica. Nestled in the jungle, it offers an alternative life style and hosts guest from all over the world throughout the year. Some months of the year I spend time in Switzerland and give workshops there and around Europe.

Through my Partner Karam, I discovered the path of Tantra. This path and our relationship opened a new deepening into life, into love and intimacy. My passion and curiosity for life and love and my deep quest for how to find more harmonious, balanced and healthy ways to live are the ground for the work I offer.

Tantra is the path of love, of surrender, a deep relaxation into the heart and union of the dance between the masculine and feminine principals within us.

  • "I have had the blessing of sitting with Raaji in many groups, sessions, and singing circles. Since our first meeting she has been an inspiration -- the gentle but strong way she holds space in a group, her focused and inviting inquiry as a healer, her boundless creativity and incredible expression as a musician. In her presence I feel seen, safe, and also challenged to dive deeper into my own expression. Raaji has been such a gift in my life!"
